TEMPUS FUGIT...

7 news

Time really does fly. It has been a while since we posted news, but there was a lot work. Now our hovies are quite the little dogs, and half of them are already in their new homes. For the past few weeks it was wonderful because at that age they are so much fun. At the age of six weeks we moved them to their new apartment, where, if the weather is ok, they only sleep. We named them at the age of 6 weeks, when they got their first vaccine and passports. One puppy, blond male, is still available.

Here are the names:
Audax Arni (black and tan male)
Adorable Ben (blond male)
Admiral Fred (blond male) – still looking for his loving family
Amazing Aria (black and tan female) – our new family member
Awesome Abby (black and tan female)
Adventurous Ava (black and tan female)
Alma Lu (black and tan female)
Astarte Ema (black and tan female)

Arni or now Aron, Abby or now Kala, Ava and Ben are already having fun with their new families. Arni - Aron, Abby – Kala and Ava are in Slovenia and Ben stayed in Croatia. They all took the change very well. Ben is very close so we will see him often and that makes us very happy because parting from each pup is so hard. Ema will also be close, in fact, Ema, Ben and our Aria will go to school together. Fred is still looking for his perfect people but we have no doubts he will find them because he is so much fun, playful and cuddly.

On the 13th of April our friends from the Hovawart club in Slovenia came to visit us, and among them was Alenka, owner of Blue, the father of our litter. Alenka brought a toy gift for each puppy when they leave for new homes. Thank You so much, Alenka and daddy Blue!

For most of the photos in this gallery we have to thank Tea and Tanja. The pictures turned out amazing! Thank You so much, Tanja and Tea (pictures in the gallery)! Tea also did our posters for the litter so big thanks for that as well!

EAT, SLEEP, PLAY

After the third week puppies daily routine definitely isn't anymore just eating and sleeping; play is a major part of their daily activities. They are very curious and alive making photo sessions and weighing much harder. We let them explore the living room which is big, so it is not always easy to find them and return them to the box. Everything is interesting! They climb on us, bite, chew slippers, bark, growl and are already acting like real little dogs. We are slowly getting to know their characters and watching how they behave in new situations and how they react to new things. They also got first toys but our clothes, slippers and toes are much more interesting, just like all the really weird stuff in the living room, like the table and sofa.

We started feeding them and that can be a real mess. We give them milk and this weekend, for the first time, they were fed mashed rice with chicken breasts and they just loved it! Leelah is doing great, has strong appetite and spends less time with the pupps except for cleaning and feeding them.

FIRST WEEK

The first week is behind us. Puppies are doing great, growing and gaining weight. Each of them got their collar so we can tell them apart. Their life consists of fighting for a good feeding position and sleeping.
Most stressful part of the day is when we take them out of the box for weighing or when we clean the box. Those „activities“ are so exhausting for them that sleep is needed immediately. Leelah is already leaving them alone in the box and comes back for feeding; but still, mostly she spends time in the living room on our couch from where she keeps an eye on them.
Leelah is a great mother and guards them from many possible threats in the living room; for example our fat cat Igor. Even though Igor is not interested in the puppies at all, coming anywhere near the box is strictly forbidden.

WAKING UP TO A NEW WORLD

Second week was magical for our puppies because they finally saw their mother, us and the world around them. Major happening was that crawling turned into toddling and that opened so many possibilities of travelling from one side of the box to the other. What a journey!
On Wednesday we saw first play! Blond brothers were the first to play but soon everyone else joined in and started goofing around. We even heard something close to a bark! Also heavy cuddling training has started which everyone eagerly embraced and all of them are getting better at it day by day.
Puppies got their first anti parasitic and they didn't like it much.
